Help get films into schools in Miss…

December 27, 2010

From Rex Curry Harsin:

Our immediate goal is to provide every K-2 student in the Tupelo Public School District with a “silent film” educational DVD that teaches students their Language Arts basics.  Our DVD is geared towards children ages 5 to 7 and uses the art and technique of silent film to teach them their basic words and word functions.  Silent Film is a unique art form that engages children in the art of reading, while also providing them entertaining stories that keep them interested and wanting to know the outcome of the story.  Our goal is to enhance reading skills in children while also exposing them to the art of silent film.  Along with providing films that teach reading and language arts skills.  We also include films about character building, dental care, health care, police safety, fire safety, the uses of money, and healthy living habits.

Here are two examples of the type of films we’ll be creating:

Please follow the link below to help us provide every K-2 student in the Tupelo Public School District with this helpful and resourceful DVD that will enhance their reading skills and encourage them to become better students!  For this Christmas, please give the gift of a Silent Purdie DVD to a student.  There are different levels of sponsorships, each having it’s own rewards.

Thanks for every other informative blog. Where else could I get that type of information written in such an ideal method? I’ve a mission that I am simply now running on, and I’ve been on the look out for such information.
