B-Side picks up a new doc

October 24, 2009

The folks at B-Side announced acquisition of a new documentary, “Still Bill” about the legendary musician Bill Withers.

The doc was picked up after playing Urbanworld Film Festival where it won audience favorite and best doc.

The B-side gang noted that “Still Bill” is expertly crafted and an intimate portrait of soul legend Bill Withers, best known for his classics “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Lean On Me,” “Lovely Day,” “Grandma’s Hands,” and “Just the Two of Us” among many more.

Filmmakers Damani Baker and Alex Vlack follow Withers and offer a unique and rare look inside the world of this fascinating man who has written some of the most beloved songs in our time. “Still Bill” will be released via the B-Side’s signature Theatrical-on-DemandTM program where individuals and organizations can host a screening of any size, in any location, at any time.

“Still Bill” screened this week at the London Film Festival, and in New York as part of the IFC Center’s “Stranger Than Fiction” series.

Other B-Side acquisitions since the company started its distribution arm last year include:
