Saving Mississippi Icons focus of doc tonight

BUILDING BLOCKS is a new film documenting the recovery of cultural and architectural icons of the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina.

It will have its broadcast premiere Tuesday, August 25, on Mississippi Public Broadcasting at 9p.m.  The film was funded in part by a grant from the National Park Service through the Preserve America program.

BUILDING BLOCKS features segments on Beauvoir, Le Bakery, Mary Mahoney’s, and the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi; St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis; the North Gulfport Community Land Trust; Pass Christian’s Scenic Drive Historic District; and the Steamboat House and Walter Anderson Museum and Cottage in Ocean Springs.
