AMIA seeks new Executive Director

The mission of the Alabama Moving Image Association (AMIA) is to encourage, inspire and support filmmaking and the appreciation of independent cinema in Alabama. The AMIA produces the annual Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, as well as additional programs and events throughout the year that support its mission.

Candidate must possess:

  • Strong managerial, organizational, delegation, ambassador and leadership skills
  • Experience working with or running a cultural non-profit organization in a leadership position
  • Solid skills in managing organization budgets and finances
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising in all forms – sponsorship, donors, membership and grants
  • Good communication and media relation skills
  • A keen understanding of working with and utilizing a board of directors
  • The ability to interface with entities in the entertainment distribution and festival business
  • Flexibility and adaptability for a changing and evolving environment
  • Vision for organization program expansion
  • An appreciation of film, particularly independent
