New Releases in Oxford

July 11, 2008

Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Guillermo Del Toro’s newest adventure, releases today. Ron Perlman continues his role as Hellboy. The group must save Earth from a mythical rebellion. But who cares? It will be awesome to look at, who needs the story?

Journey to the Center of the Earth releases in 3-D (in limited theaters) is the newest adaptation of Jules Vernes classic novel. The critics have been knocking the CGI effects, but perhaps in 3-D we won’t notice.

Meet Dave is Eddie Murphy’s latest attempt at sci-fi comedy. Let’s hope it goes over better than Pluto Nash. Eek.

I really enjoyed “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” !
It wasn’t all CGI… Plenty of puppets and stuff
that gave the movie a “Men In Black” feel, or
even kind of a classic “Star Wars” vibe !

In many respects, this movie could have
    been “Pan’s Labyrinth 2”, and that’s not
    a bad thing… LOL !!!
